Keep counting!

Well I have to say that I didn't really manage my time well today. This morning I woke up and went to town to run errands and I unfortunately didn't return until 4 pm. After I returned I remembered that I had to go and pick up a clients colt and bring it to the barn so I can break and train her this month. So off I went to the clients ranch. It didn't take long to get the mare into the trailer but I stood there and chatted about horses for quite a while. As I came back to the house every thing seemed to demand my time and by the time the sun started to set I knew that working with Spade was out of the question. But I did realize something today so I wanted to blog about that. I LOVE my life!! A few days ago Danial had said the same thing and I kinda snickered at him. But as I started thinking about all that God has blessed us with I found myself smiling. I have a wonderful family, a great house and I get to do what I LOVE for a living. And a part of that living is helping others do what they love too. Then I thought that there is no reason that I should ever be down or complain about small inconveniences. I think so many times we forget all the things that God does for us. We forget to count our blessings. It is really easy to count our problems but when you count your blessings all of the problems don't seem so bad anymore. I came to the Lord at the age of 8 but 13 years ago I made a pact with God. I would serve Him no matter what he told me to do. I knew that might require me walking away from horses all together. I quit riding for 3 years and went to bible college, thinking I would never compete again. When I got back to Texas, God opened up door after door in the training area. A few years later I stopped working as a banker and started training and competing full time. But I had to learn to trust that God was going to give the the business that I needed to keep things going.  Since then God has set me up with a wonderful facility and a very supportive husband that believes in me more then I even do. God has also given me the talent and the insight to work with these incredible animals and I nor them have ever needed anything. God has supplied all our needs.  In return I have used and will continue to use horses to further His kingdom. I can't wait to see what is still to come. So when you find yourself in the dumps start counting the things God has done. When you keep your eyes and heart turned toward HIM you never know where He will take you.
