I am outta here!!

So I haven't blogged the last few days because after working the horses I had to come in a pack for our trip out of town. A few months ago we decided to take a family trip with the girls to Branson, MO. Not normally my pick but there is more then enough to do for a four year old. Needless to say we are set to have a blast. We had a really long drive today which gave me more then enough time to think about a certain mustang that I left at home. Monday was the last time I worked with him I had done alot of desensitizing on him. He only kicked once when the pool noodles fell around his back feet. Currently that is the only place that he still has issues. It is that area five feet directly behind him and the three feet out the side of his hind legs. Only some times does he actually kick at the object. Every time he does I get those feet to moving. After working him for his actions he immediately licks his lips. I have to say he is getting better and better! After leaving Monday I didn't feel like I had gotten anything done. Well I did start picking up his front feet. But I found myself a little frustrated. I can't wait to get back after our trip I am going to start working twice a day. I have even cut back on clients horses so I can focus more on him. I hope the five days off helps him out. I know once I start getting him out and about then he will start to be better.
I guess because I didn't have that great of a day with Spade Monday. I have that undone feeling. Yesterday I was going to go have a good day with him so I could leave and feel better about the deal. But because I was so busy on the forth I didn't get a chance to. This left me thinking the entire drive to Little Rock about all the things that I can do with him when I get back. The good thing was I also allowed me to start thinking about a routine for freestyle that is held for the top 10 of the class I will be entering. In case you haven't looked it up already. There are three classes at the SEMM Stars, Idols and Legends. I will be entering the middle class the Idols. Being this is my first mustang and I am not a cutter or a Reiner Idols will probably be my best bet. Idols and Legends are very similar. In both classes you have to do a trail class, a reining pattern, and cow work. But when it comes to the freestyle it is a whole new ball game. I would be competing against people that have been on their mustangs since the first week. I have been told by many trainers that my first one just so happened to be a really tough one. So I decided to stay where our odds are better and it isn't as stressful on Spade . I don't feel like I have anything to prove and this will not be my last mustang makeover so to get my feet wet, Idols is where I need to be.
I wish I could explain how I feel right now. I really feel behind. I am trusting that God is going to help me get though the rest of this. I have a long way to go and not much time to get there. Staying positive is this entire battle. Hopefully working double time after I get back will help. If you don't see a blog the next few days no worries I am just laying by the pool 500 miles from home. :-)
